There are simply a ton of tools and services out there to assist the real estate related webmaster promote their site but there's only so much time in the day and only so much money in the budget. Where do you go to get the greatest bang for your buck, what networks are showing signs of stress, and what's around the corner that early adopters can benefit from.
Real estate directories have gone through a lot of changes in the last couple of years and many of the traditional directories have either changed their focus, went belly up or are dead in the water. The old web saying is true, and even more so it seems with real estate directories, if you're not busy evolving... you're busy dying.
Some of the old standards are still around and provide outstanding exposure where others aren't worth your time in submitting. For me, the death of good free exposure came with the directory submission services that would "submit your site to 200 directories for $5.95. That did two things; first, the submission services created hundreds of worthless directories with no quality standards to meet the guarantee and second, legitimate free directories had to change their policies because of the tremendous volume of spam from these submission services.
We encourage you to check out or real estate directories list where you can sort individual directories, dedicated to the real estate profession, by cost, listing types, clicks from home or Google PR ®. Honestly though, updating that list is a rather time consuming process and doesn't occur often enough to keep up with all of the changes daily/weekly. We are in the process of updating it as this is written but it will be a couple more days before it's complete.
